Do You Have Cataracts?

A cataract is a cloudy area in the lens of the eye that interferes with vision by diffusing light as it passes through the eye. It is not painful but symptoms can include blurry or distorted vision, poor night vision, a white or ’milky’ spot over the pupil of the eye, and halos or glare around lights.

Cataracts generally develop as part of the ageing process and cannot be cured by any type of medication, eye exercise, alternative therapy, diet or glasses.

Surgery is the only way to remove a cataract and cataract surgery is one of the most commonly-performed procedures around the world. The surgeon makes an incision, removes the defective lens and then replaces it with a new intraocular lens (IOL) to restore vision.

Here’s what one patient had to say about the care provided by personalEYES:

"When I went to see Dr. Chandra Bala, I was given a very thorough examination and he found that I had cataracts on both eyes that needed to be removed. Dr Bala discussed the procedure for the removal and implantation of the multifocal intraocular lenses. The surgery went really well and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. Dr. Bala and his staff were professional and courteous, and I would highly recommend personalEYES."
