Initial Consultation
The first step is to meet with one of our experienced, qualified surgeons. The consultation determines if you are a good candidate for laser vision correction.
We explain the options you have available and the benefits, risks and results you can expect after treatment.
Options may include Phacoemulsification, in which a lens clouded by a cataract is broken up by ultrasound, or by implanting multi-focal lenses for the permanent treatment of presbyopia, a condition that sees many Australians needing reading glasses as they get older.
The initial consultation includes a review of your medical and ocular history, an examination of your eyes, a Refraction, and Corneal Pachymetry, and Corneal Topography measurements. The consultation takes between one and one and a half hours. You should bring your glasses or contact lenses, as well as your referral letter.
Please be aware that you may need to organise transport home, as your pupils may be dilated after assessment. After the consultation, a full written report is provided, offering the safest solution and best possible outcome.
