Dr David McKay
Ophthalmic Surgeon, Medical & Surgical Retina

David is a fully qualified medical practitioner and eye surgeon. He trained at the Sydney Eye Hospital before graduating with the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists in 1988. He undertook further training in surgery and diseases of the retina at the Lions' Eye Institute in Perth, WA. This was followed by work in the USA in ocular oncology with Prof Jerry Shields.
He is a visiting medical officer at Concord Hospital, NSW Private Eye Centre and Hunters Hill Private Hospital. He is a member of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps and holds the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
David is a member of the Australian Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmologists, and is a registered medical practitioner in NSW.
David has a deep interest in eye diseases affecting the retina and runs a genetic service for people with inherited eye complaints.
