College of Ophthalmology. Our doctors have also completed international
training in Europe, Asia and North America to compliment and extend

Refractive Surgeons
Dr Meades graduated with Honours from Sydney University in 1977 and spent four years at hospitals in New South Wales, including as Senior Resident in Ophthalmology at Repat General Hospital Concord.
Between 1985-87 Dr Meades undertook ophthalmological training at Sydney Eye Hospital with secondments to Westmead, Lidcombe, Royal Prince Alfred and St Vincent's Hospitals.
In 1997 Dr Meades underwent extensive training with Dr Peter Stewart in LASIK Refractive Surgery.
Dr Meades has published widely on LM & EM Histopathology of an Iris Microhaemangioma, Atypical Microbacterial Keratitis, Larva Tick Bite of the Conjunctivitis, and True Exfoliation of the Lens Capsule.
Dr Meades' special interests are in cataract and refractive surgery, medical retina including fluorescein angiography and laser, and she is Joint Chairperson for 'Women in Ophthalmology'.
Dr Bogna Zborowska is a fellowship-trained specialist refractive and cataract surgeon with Laser Sight Centres, Sydney. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995 and practiced as a medical officer at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Repatriation Hospitals.
In 2001 she commenced the Ophthalmology training program at Sydney Eye Hospital. During the four years of training she gained experience in several ophthalmic sub-specialities, including glaucoma, cornea, medical retina, neuro-ophthalmology, lids, and adnexal disease.
She is a member of the Australian Medical Association and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists at the beginning of 2005. Attending local and international conferences, Dr Zborowska stays current with the latest advances in ophthalmic technology and therapeutics. She has published in ophthalmology and neurology journals and is also involved in clinical ophthalmic research.
Her passion is to bring happiness to people by improving their eyesight and therefore their lifestyle. Her other passions are reading, travelling, diving, swimming and dancing. She enjoys outdoor activities including Opera in the Park and the City to Surf Fun Run.

Dr Tess Huynh
MBBS(Syd), RANZCO Refractive, Corneal & Cataract Surgeon |
Dr Tess Huynh is an ophthalmic surgeon who is also a fellowship-trained Corneal and External Eye Diseases subspecialist. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996 and subsequently spent her residency years at Liverpool, Westmead and Concord Repatriation Hospital.
She commenced the RANZCO ophthalmology training in 2000 at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She was offered the first job-sharing training position and thus took time off with her first child. She recommenced training the following year. On completion of the ophthalmic surgical training, she was granted the Corneal Fellowship for further training with the Corneal Unit at Centre for Eye Research Australia headed by Professor Hugh Taylor AC.
She has a deep compassion for the less privileged and has worked in both the Philippines and Vietnam. She was awarded the Pharmacia Grant in conjunction with an honourary position on the Royal Children's Hospital International Charity organisation for work in Hanoi National Paediatric Hospital.

Dr Paul Latimer

Dr Paul Latimer qualified as a doctor at Cambridge University UK. He has extensive experience in the field of Ophthalmology, with a special interest in corneal surgery. Paul has undertaken a fellowship in Corneal Transplantation with Professor Doug Coster, one of Australia's best-known corneal surgeons at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. Prior to coming to Australia 3 years ago, Paul completed a fellowship in Oculoplastics at The University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK.
Paul now lives in Wagga Wagga, NSW with his wife and five beautiful daughters. He has a successful private and public practice with appointments at both the local Base Hospital and at the local Calvary Private Hospital. He is also an associate lecturer at the University of New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) and a member of the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He also belongs to the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Paul is now pleased to offer a high standard of corneal and refractive surgery to the people of the Riverina and its surrounding areas.

Dr John Males

John studied medicine at Sydney University, where he performed research in the discipline of physiology in collaboration with NASA. He underwent his ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital where he received advanced training in corneal and external eye disease. He completed further training in corneal, cataract and refractive surgery in Bristol Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom. John has expertise in clinical epidemiology and evidence based medicine having completed his Masters degree in these topics.
He is currently a consultant ophthalmologist in the corneal unit at Sydney Eye Hospital and clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. John is involved in registrar teaching and an examiner for the Masters of Ophthalmic Basic Sciences at the University of Sydney.
John has made a number of media appearances including on Channels 7 and 9, ABC radio and in Good Medicine Magazine. He has presented at Australasian, European and American ophthalmic meetings and has publications in peer reviewed ophthalmic journals.
Retinal Surgeons
A graduate of Melbourne University, Dr Jennifer Sandbach undertook a Medical Retina Fellowship at Moorfields, London and a clinical Fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology at Emory University, Atlanta. She is currently the staff specialist, Ophthalmologist at Westmead and Prince of Wales Hospital.
Dr Sandbach conducts a Medical Retinal and neuron-ophthalmology Clinic at our personalEYES Parramatta facility.
A graduate of the University of New South Wales, and recipient of the Medical Women's Society of NSW Prize, the Wallace Worth Prize and the Combined Teaching Hospitals Senior Staff Prize, Dr Angela Jennings undertook a Medical Retinal Fellowship at Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
Dr Jennings played a significant role as treating investigator in study and research in the development of new medications which are now available to be used in the treatment of Age Related Macular Degeneration. Dr Jennings conducts a Medical Retinal and General Ophthalmology clinic at our personalEYES Parramatta facility.
A graduate from Flinders University South Australia, Dr Gina Tsanaktsidis undertook a Vitreoretinal fellowship at both Westmead hospital in Sydney and London's Western Eye Hospital.
Dr Tsananktsidis is the Retinal Surgery staff Specialist for personalEYES, consulting at our personalEYES Parramatta facility and soon to be consulting at personalEYES Penrith.
